Randy’s Music Notes

No one ever has been, No one ever will be

Like the one sent to save us, Who died on Calvary’s tree

He gave it all He gave it all

On a cross of wood the man of sorrows

Paid our debt with love He gave it all

He gave it all

By the gift of his life, By the blood that he shed

We now know Him forever, By his Spirit we are led

With a crown of thorns he suffered

For all our sin and shame

And paid the price, the final sacrifice

He gave it all!

I still remember the first time I heard this song and spent some time focusing on the lyrics.  The music so richly translates the text … a beautiful marriage of lyrics and music.  It causes us to stop and realize the depths of love Christ showed on the cross.  We know that Christ gave his all so that we could have life.  What have we given to him today?  This week?  Let’s bring a sacrifice of worship to our King this week!

Sunday night will be our last Ring and Sing of the year and the Young Musician choir will be sharing their musical “Back to the Cross” following the Preschool and Music Makers choirs.  Be there at 5 pm.  I want to thank all those who make our children’s choir a reality week in and week out.  To our choir directors and their teams, to those who pick up children, to those who serve cookies or provide a safe place to play in the gym.  Thank you!  It takes a lot of people to make this happen week in and week out and I appreciate each of you!

Community Choir is a great way to join the choir for the summer.  We have almost completed our selection of songs and are beginning to put the summer rehearsal schedule together.  We want the word to get out to others in our community who would like to join us so consider inviting someone to come with you.

See you Sunday!

Randy
